This year for Thanksgiving, Mountain Avenue Market is teaming up with The Regional for all of your pie-based needs.
Last week we told you about what ingredients we have in stock for making your own pie, but Thanksgiving is a busy time of year, and sometimes, it’s nice to be able to pick up a pie already made, while still knowing it’s going to be fresh, homemade, and baked with locally sourced ingredients.
Enter The Regional. For those unfamiliar, The Regional is an independent restaurant right here in Fort Collins. Their mission statement is as follows:
“We work with Colorado suppliers to cook the homegrown comfort food that we all know and love. For some, that may be creamy shrimp and grits or oysters – for others, it’s crispy fried chicken and fries. Either way, no matter which corner of this country you’re from, we know you’ll find a familiar favorite in our kitchen.”
The Regional partners with many farms across the state, the vast majority of which are in Fort Collins itself, including: Hazel Dell Farm (Fort Collins), Jodar Farms (Fort Collins), Raisin’ Roots Farm (Fort Collins), Isabelle Farm (Lafayette), and Native Hill Farm (Laporte).
If you’re in need of a homemade pie this Thanksgiving, whether you’re hosting or want to bring something to contribute as a guest, come by the food co-op for one of The Regional’s pies!
For sweet, we have Apple, Pumpkin, Pecan, and Dutch Sweet Potato. For savory, we have two different kinds of pot pies: Turkey or Mushroom.
And while you’re visiting us to pick up a pie for your guests, we’d love it if you could lend us a hand by donating to our GoFundMe. We’re $109 shy of reaching $20,000, and it’s all because of you!
So thank you. We mean it. And we hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
