We’ve recently started carrying products from Mountain Girl Pickles, an independent business based in Boulder, CO. Their pickled products range anywhere from okra to green beans, from asparagus to corn relish, and from Brussel sprouts to beets.
“As the popularity of my products grew, I started selling at local farmers markets and holiday markets across the Front Range in Colorado,” reads their website. “My pickled vegetables were a hit! I continued to grow and expand into more markets, and finally onto store shelves. I am now in over 14 farmers markets and 17 stores across Colorado.”
We here at Mountain Avenue Market can definitely vouch for the quality of Laraina’s work (founder of Mountain Girl Pickles) and are sure to keep our shelves stocked with her pickled veggies. We also carry a number of other pickled products for you to check out, including how to pickle your own produce!
While you’re here grabbing a jar of pickled okra, don’t forget to grab yourself some No Frill Dills from YeeHaw Pickle, an independent business based in Crested Butte, CO. From garlic pickles, spicy pickles, to good ol’ fashioned dill, there’s a wide variety to choose from.
For traditionalists, we’re also stocked with plenty of organic relish from Field Day, the perfect crowd pleaser for hot dogs over the BBQ.
And if you’re interested in pickling your own produce, we have plenty of materials to help you get started. From Masontops, we carry Pickle Pipes and Glass Fermentation Weights for all of your kimchi, sauerkraut, and pickle-making needs, as well as a book on canning from Ball. Back to Basics: A Foolproof Guide to Canning Jams, Jellies, Pickles & More.
So after you’re done prepping your garden and preparing your home for canning season, swing by your local food co-op for all of your pickle-related needs.
