It’s turkey time, co-op fam!
We know that amidst the joy of getting together with loved ones over a good meal, Thanksgiving preparations can be a little stressful. That’s where your friendly neighborhood food co-op comes in: we got you covered for the big day, from turkeys to stuffing to your favorite pumpkin pie.
First and foremost, the turkey. This year, we’re working with Mary’s Free-Range turkeys to provide you with the best of the best. Mary’s turkeys are raised on grains and roam in areas four times the size of areas provided by the average commercial turkey ranch.
Whole birds are $4.89 a pound, ranging from 8 – 12 pounds, 12 – 16 pounds, and 16 – 20 pounds. Be sure to put in your order sooner rather than later. Not only is Thanksgiving Day approaching, but we have a limited number of spots left for each sized turkey.
For our 8 – 12 pound birds, we have six more available slots, three more slots for our 12 – 16 pound turkeys, and another three slots left for our 16 – 20 pounders (we had 20 – 24 turkeys as well, but they’ve already sold out!)
Once you’ve got your favorite holiday bird ordered and ready to go, be sure to pick up other ingredients for the big day. We have Woostock’s Organic Jellied Cranberry Sauce, as well as Organic Cranberry Sauce from Farmer’s Market.
For stuffing, you can choose between our organic Sourdough Stuffing from Boudin or Aleia’s Stuffing, the latter of which is gluten free!
But don’t leave before picking up the most important items: ingredients for pumpkin pie. If you’re gluten free, we have pie crusts for you by Wholly Gluten Free. If not, we got you covered with Organic Traditional Pie Shells by Wholly Wholesome. And of course, you can’t have pumpkin pie without pumpkin. Make sure to grab one of autumn’s favorite gourds from our produce section, or grab a can of Organic Pumpkin Pie Mix by Farmer’s Market.
And if you happen to be in the giving spirit, we’d love it if you could help us out by donating to our GoFundMe. We’ve reached a little over $19,000 in donations so far thanks to you, the Fort Collins community. Of the many things we’re grateful for this Thanksgiving, we are especially grateful for you.
