Discount Member-Worker Program
The Discount Member-Worker Program is designed to engage a handful of our member-owners to help out with the daily operations at their beloved food cooperative. Not only do they enjoy the community-minded environment, but they receive a 20% DISCOUNT at the store (based on how many hours they work).
The Logistics
READ CAREFULLY! As a Member-Worker, you will be compensated with a 20% off discount on all the delicious food & cool products we have to offer at Mountain Avenue Market. The amount of discounts given is determined by how many hours of work you put into the cooperative. Each hour worked is equivalent to minimum wage. The value of the hours you work will be stored in your “account” at the co-op and will be paid out to you as a 20% discount.
Your discount will become effective at the beginning of each month for hours worked the previous month. You can continue to use this discount until you have used up your funds, meaning you can use them even if you no longer work here.
You will be classified as an employee of the co-op and your compensation is subject to Social Security and Federal employment taxes. You will receive a W-2 at the end of the year for the amount of compensation earned. Please note, this may effect you if you are on unemployment.

Marketing and Outreach Member-Worker
Duties:
Help with various marketing and outreach initiatives.
Help with social media (including our website!)
Artistic and creative projects for the right candidate.
Qualifications:
Must have some computer and social skillset. Experience with Google Docs, email marketing platforms, and WordPress is a plus.
Must commit to a minimum of 4 months, 2-3 hours a week. More for the right candidate.
Must be a member-owner of the cooperative!
Creative and artistic is a HUGE plus!
Hours can be flexible. Some projects can be completed at home or out in the community.
